Look at my Fish
Insaniquarium is one of my favorite games from back in the day. As an ancient person, I didn’t have internet at home and would visit the public library once a week. I’m sure this was intended to allow me to learn and research and do homework, but in reality I spent most of my time feeding my fish and pretending to be a vampire on the Neopets forums. When I realized that Insaniquarium was available on Steam, I was overwhelmed with joy.

I started the downloaded, and even with my ungodly slow internet it was done in just a few minutes! So reasonably tiny. Such instant gratification.

Gameplay
For the most part, Insaniquarium Deluxe ran smoothly for the first 10 minutes. I enjoyed building my tanks and feeding my precious carnivores. Eventually, the music began to stutter, my cursor disappeared, and my entire machine locked up. Nothing worked and I eventually had to hard restart.
Still overwhelmingly worth it though, and honestly not a huge departure from the gaming experience I remember from 2001.
